A very special photo - almost history...

I received this photo from Monika, too.
When I visited Sabine and Peer, I liked their installation of cavy cages and runs: a total system built in their house, typical of their love and care for their animals.

This photos shows the biggest run which housed a group of sows.

Letter from Monika

I received the following letter from Monika Spychala (Poland) today.
Monika is also a part of the "Wuschelland-family" as we call it.

So, let's see her story:

"Hello Istvan!
This is a story about my caviary and my cavies from Wuschelland.
The first (golden) agouti peruvian came to my caviary in January of 2007. from Danidino. It was two sows Uhura & Yria (Yria’s mother is Urmeli – sister to Uhura) and in their pedigree, there were cavies from Wuschelland.
In the same year, I went go to Sabine and Peer and bought the first silver agouti peruvian in Poland – Venga vom Wuschelland /silveragouti/ & Ramon /silveragouti satin/. At the same time, Daniel bought a small Princes from Danidino and 2 adults for me. They are great! They were Best of Breed at the show in Warsaw.
Venga gave me only one baby – Cin Cin Wolf&gang Cavies /goldenagouti with red; father was Nils von der Lausitz/. Venga died 2 mounts after she had her second baby… Cin Cin was 1. baby in Dresden’08 – she is smart, pretty and she has body like her father! She had 1 litter but the babies died /she wasn’t good mother/, at the moment she is in private hands.
Ramon + Tarantula Sommerheiden gave me 3 black peruvians – all are in private hands… In Daniel’s caviary and Luncavia they gave a few pretty babies  I send You his baby from Luncavia (sepia with cream and beautiful satin silveragouti). He died last year in Cavia Palace :-(
My third cavy from Wuschelland’s family was Cara! Fantastic lemonagouti-white peruvian sow! She was the best cavy in my caviary! Polish Champion !!! Super character, excellent body and pretty eyes…. I’m very sad that she has gone …. Many thanks to Sabine and Peer for her!! Cara + Bacardi Wolfgang Cavies /his grandmother was Yria von Danidino/ give me 4 babies: cream, goldenagouti, black and goldenagouti-red-white. Two first boys died within the first 24 hours. Two girls: Grappa & Grenadina are smaller than their mother but very pretty! The black one stayed in my caviary – she is pregnant. Grenadina died 2 weeks ago – toxemia. The girls were shown and had a good note 
Sooo I hope that Grappa will have healthy babies and they stay with me!
"

I also knew Cara vom Wuschelland "personally": I judged her in Germany and Poland. I can not say too much about her, it is enough to say that she was one of the reasons I started Peruvains... :o)

Sabine's letter

I recived this letter from Sabine today.

Sabine"

English translation:

"Dear István & dear "Wuschelland-Fans",
I have to thank you for the sympathy and appreciation which you express to our late caviary – and I think Peer has the same opinion.
I thank István for the idea and his enthusiasm to keep the memory of us, our caviary and our animals.
When I received István’s mail, I was very moved, and I admit I had tears in my eyes.
I had the same feeling, when I saw this blog for the first time today.
I am amazed and I can not find words.
No, during the past years of breeding, I have never seen that breeders appreciate another caviary so much that a blog comes to life to remember it.
I am really pleased that I could meet lots of nice people in the past years, who do not let our caviary to be forgotten, I would like to thank then so much.
I would like to express my and Peer’s thanks to all friends who have helped István in this project. Even if we do not breed actively any more, we are with you in our minds, and we are very pleased that our animals enrich your caviaries.
I thank you all. You are fantastic.
Sabine"

He lives in Czechia with Petra Rusnoková.
I have recieved some photos from Petra showing Chicco's babies. Thank you, Petra!

Litter "P" (mother: Little Holiday on Ice):

Litter "Q" (mother: Ikea Nickola):

Yes, Mr. Dior at Brentwood Hotel

Also from Mr. Mannheim vom Wuschelland, he was the only child of Heluta Dior: a huge baby boy. He does not live here any more, but hopefully, he will be used at Brentwood Hotel later.

C... at Brentwood Hotel

Poor girl, she still does not have a name: I simply could not find anything approppriate... Anyway, he is from Mr. Mannheim vom Wuschelland and Impala Kiss for a Friend. Nice and strong: she stays, too!

Vivienne Westwood at Brentwood Hotel

She is from the first litter of Mr. Mannheim vom Wuschelland. Her mother is Unusual Story at Brentwood Hotel. She definitely stays here. :o)

Same Quality at Brentwood Hotel

This tortoiseshell-white is from my first Wuschelland-litter (father: Don Peppino vom Wuschelland), his mother is Impala Fine Quality.

Pl.Ch, Int.Ch. Rosalia vom Wuschelland

Rosalia went to Daniel (www.diorcavia.pl), who also has become a "Wuschelland-fan" during the years.
Her parents: Platino Blanco vom Wuschelland - Patida vom Wuschelland)

CzCh. Pacco vom Wuschelland

This silver-agouti boar lives in Czechia with Petra Rusnoková (http://www.plaminek.websnadno.cz/). I had the pleasure to judge him twice: he really represents "Wuschelland": compact, strong, has a wonderful coat and a cute face.

He is from Platino Blanco vom Wuschelland and Fabiana vom Wuschelland.

Mr. Twister vom Wuschelland

He is a goldagouti-white litter brother to my Mr. Mannheim. He lives with our friend Irina in Moscow (www.piki-kvik.ru). He also developped nicely, and thanks to the fantastic care of Irina, he is in beautiful coat:

One of his first babies, Piki Kvik Rob's Cherry Soda, a goldagouti-white sow. She stays at Piki-Kvik:

Mr. Mannheim vom Wuschelland

My second boar is from the same mother (Bella vom Wuschelland) as Don Peppino. His father is a Danish Champion Fingertip's So Ashamed. I think he does not have to be ashamed: Mr. Mannheim is a great boar: big and stong: exactly what I was looking for in a Peruvian boar. And what is even more important: as I see he gives that to her offspring, too. (Some baby photos later!)

This is him arriving at Irene:

This is him some months later. (I really am sorry, but I do not have any more recent photos yet.)

Mom and Dad

Don Peppino's parents:
Ignaz vom Hohen Stein - Bella vom Wuschelland

Don Peppino's next trip

At the moment, Don Peppino lives with my friend Ioana Craciun in Romania. Ioana has some beautiful Peruvians in the colours which go perfectly with him. You can check what is happening there here: http://impalakennel.ro/cavies.htm

These photos were taken by Ioana. Look how wonderful he has developped!

My first Wuschelland: Don Peppino

Don Peppino vom Wuschelland is a silveragouti-white boar. This was my first photo of him. Just a few days old:

A few weeks later. He went to Irene von Werne first, then he travelled further to me, together with two other Wuschelland-boys. Many thanks for your help and the photo, Irene!

GO!

So... The blog is started today. I was thinking a lot what to do, when I heard that Wuschelland caviary does not exist any more. I could not understand it first... I know Sabine and Peer, I visited them, I saw their love and devotion to cavies, I was talking with them about their plans, etc.

When I heard the bad news, I already had my first Peruvian sow, and suddenly, I became devoted to this wonderful breed. The least I could do was to write to Peer and ask what is available. So, I bought my first "Wuschelland", a beautiful silveragouti-white boar. But thanks to Irina ("Piki Kvik"), I received a second boar at the same time: a tortoiseshell-white (MY colour!!!), whose litter-brother went to Irina.

I am trying to present here, where Wuschelland cavies live, and how they are used for breeding in some selective caviaries in various countries. If you feel that you can help my work, please contact me and send your contribution!

Let's say a big "THANK YOU" to Sabine and Peer together! :o)
